Richard Mille RM 33-02 Automatic
Introduced in 2020 as a limited edition of 140 pieces, the RM 33-02 Automatic reinterprets the RM 033, the collection's first ultra-thin round watch from 2011, by marrying the performance of a sports watch with the elegance of a round timepiece. It was the first round Carbon TPT automatic watch, pairing Carbon TPT front and back bezels with a satin-finished 18K 5N red gold caseband. The round tripartite case measures 41.70 x 8.80 mm, is assembled with 14 grade 5 titanium spline screws, and is water-resistant to 30 metres. The black rubber strap extends the lines of the case's unusual indentations at 6 and 12 o'clock.
The watch is powered by the Calibre RMXP1, a skeletonised automatic-winding movement just 2.60 mm thick, with hours, minutes and an off-centre monobloc solid platinum bidirectional rotor. The baseplate is grade 5 titanium with a Titalyt treatment, the bridges are black PVD coated, and the free-sprung balance carries 4 adjustable weights. Beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour with 29 jewels, it offers a power reserve of 42 hours. Hour-markers in 5N gold sit on two rigid titanium rails fixed between the flange and the movement, while oversized numerals underscore the dial's easy readability.
